Tasty Ideas for Clean Eaters!
Turkey Guacamole Burgers
Guacamole Spread
2 avocados
1 tsp / 5 ml garlic powder
1/2 tsp / 2.5 ml freshly ground black pepper
2 jalapenos, chopped finely
1/2 white onion, chopped finely
1 cup / 240 ml cilantro, chopped finely
Juice of one lime
Burgers
2 lb / 900 g lean ground turkey
1/2 cup/120 ml cilantro, chopped
4 tsp / 20 ml ground cinnamon
1 tsp / 5 ml garlic powder
1 tsp / 5 ml freshly ground black pepper
6 Ezekiel or whole-grain buns
Preparation:
Guacamole Spread
1.
Cut avocados in half. Remove the pits and scoop flesh into a medium-sized bowl.
2.
Add garlic powder, black pepper, jalapenos, white onions, cilantro and lime juice to the bowl.
3.
Mix all ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
4.
Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
Turkey Burgers
1.
Preheat your barbeque to medium-high heat.
2.
Add turkey, cilantro, cinnamon, garlic powder and black pepper to a large bowl.
3.
Mix the ingredients with clean, bare hands.
4.
Divide the mixture into 6 parts and shape into flat patties.
5.
Lightly coat the hot grill with oil and add the patties.
6.
Grill patties for 7 to 9 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
7.
Serve burgers on a lightly toasted bun with 1 Tbsp of Guacamole Spread and enjoy!
